When 'No' means 'No'

From time immemorial we've seen women been the pawns of the men's games, even our mythological stories tells the same tale be it Draupadi in Mahabharata who was forced to marry five brothers- the Pandavas and later was assaulted by the Kauravas while the Pandavas remained the bystanders. Similar is the case of Seeta from Ramayana. She was abducted by Ravana but Ram fought against him and won the war and got his wife back but later she was forced to give the 'Agnipariksha.'
Yesterday I saw this trending video on YouTube. It was a CCTV footage of a young girl in Bangalore - the IT hub of the country. She was walking past a lane in the middle of the night, probably to her home, suddenly two men on a vehicle drove past her. They saw her and returned back. The one sitting on the back got down and groped her in the middle of the road, she started fidgiting, the man held her fiercely and grabbed her towards the vehicle. When she resisted even more he jolted her to the ground. If this wasn't disturbing enough then on viewing the video clearly I noticed the bystanders who were watching this awfulness unfold. What was even more shocking is the attitude of the politicians who chose to blame the 'western clothing.'
When you read any newspaper or watch any news channel, you'll always find most of the stories about rape, molestation, abuse and many more violent crimes against women. And to top it off most of these take place in the booming cities of our country. In 2015, on an average 6 rapes and 15 molestation cases were reported each day in Delhi alone and lets just also count the ones who went unreported. Yes, we do live in a modern society, so to say, but when and how will this swamp destroy. On every nook and corner we find these creepy guys stalking and passing offensive remarks.
Mother's give us birth, we grow with our sisters and our grandmothers pamper us so from where does this disrespect for others sisters and mothers even come in the mind of these people. The movie 'Pink' was impactful enough to prove that nothing should be done without a women's consent nor should one take the undue advantage of ones sanity after a few drinks. The movie made a strong statement that 'No' means 'No' whoever that person is.
Well we can't shut everyone's mouth or change everyone's way of thinking but with our new generation we can bring in a change where women will be free from violence and hate crimes. They will choose their way of dressing, behaving and working as do the men. The Constitution of our country have given them equal rights a long ago, now it's high time we - the men give them the respect, the dignity they rightfully deserve.
