Love, life and Generation

Love, Life and Generation Has this generation changed the definition of love and life?   Pyaar, Ishq, Mohabbat...Love has many names but the sole purpose of all these names is the only one to ‘Spread Happiness’. Love has different meanings for different people. For some people love would be a meeting for a moment, for some it may be a wait for years, whatever the meaning be but the intention is to spread happiness. A mother awaits a smile on her child’s face is the best example of selfless and true love. This love is priceless. Love is pious. Love is sacred. Whose ever it be.    The older generation always complain that this generation has changed the definition of love and life. This is true to some extent. Many of us try to find love online, make friends online. Inspite of that many of us would still fondly remember their first love, thei...

Dil toh Baccha Hai Ji

Image
Is it only me or does everyone get nostalgic when you go through the dozens of photo albums stuffed in the closet ? When you see your old birthday pictures or your school photos, don't you always say 'Those were the days'. The neat and sophisticatedness of today is nothing compared to the shabby but cuteness of those days. From the straight forward talks of 'I don't like you' and 'I hate this vegetable' to the diplomatic lives of today, we have come a long way.   Life has certainly changed in these twenty years as we have moved from the books to the Kindle, newspaper to the iPad, Sony Walkman to the iPod. While we begged our parents to go outdoors to have a good time, my cousins (even me) will barely look up from the screen unless the place was on fire. Yes, change is inevitable. We grow and we certainly grew alot.    Today is children's day. I remember in school we used to wear party dresses apart from the regular uniform(which was a huge relie...

Being Diplomatic

In my neighbourhood there is a couple. There are always loud quarrels between them. One day out of frustration I decided to ask the husband. "Whats wrong with you and your wife?" Poor husband quickly began telling me as if I was his best friend. He told that they were a newly wed couple and that his wife is a bad cook. Early on in their marriage when she started to cook even though the food was bland or outright bad, he would eat it with delight and praise her. As days passed she became annoyed as his lunch box would never be empty and one day in a pique of anger he insulted her. I wasn't able to give him any advice but I thought rather than taking a jibe at her he could have handled the matter days ago but with 'diplomacy'. He could have suggested her to add some spice or salt or even refer some cookery shows and books.    Diplomacy is an art these days. Its the ability to assert your ideas or opinions, knowing what to say or how to say without damaging ...

Colours

Today, we all are celebrating the auspicious festival of colours - Holi. This festival signifies the victory of good over evil. Also it is the arrival of the spring with the end of winter. Holika Dahan is on the previous night but people are always eagerly waiting for the next day which is the actual play. Balloons, Tanks of coloured water are prepared in advance, the music is all set and then its a splash of colours. There is no age or gender or caste differences on whether who should play Holi its a festival for all alike. There are all colours sprayed around today so I decided to give you a list of colours that we use in the English language to make it colourful. 1. When someone is in the best of health, we say the person is in the pink of health. 2. When something happens suddenly, we say it happened out of the blue or whether we want to tell  about an action that we do very rarely we say once in a blue moon.   3.   When something is no l...

Taken for granted

There are three things in life which you cannot recover - the moment after its missed, the word after its said and the time that is wasted and if all this culminated then it would be horrific to bring it back. We most of the times miss the small moments like wishing our close people on their birthdays, we do have our excuses for not remembering and our busy schedules are only to complain. We often say someone unabashedly that we don't need that person in our lives, well we might not even need but think again was their actually a need to say it and the hours that we binge watch American TV PS I do, what all things we all could be done in those hours. Well all these are larger topics I need to stress more on the first one that is we take people for granted.     The parents that give us the right upbringing, fulfill all our desires become the uninvited people in our lives at a point of time. The mother that wakes up at 5, prepares our breakfast so that we could...

Love You Zindagi

Hello guys, I'm Gaurav. I'm a total filmbu ff and love to listen all kinds of songs be it Rock, pop, jazz, hardcore romance or simply Bollywood. So here's My Pla ylist but with a lot more things. Each song that I listen to or keep humming has an anecdote - a memory, a story, which I would like to share with all you guys. Well, my language will be simple as is of a 20 year old one who is on the verge of turning 21. So, no preachings here but yes being into teaching gives me that edge.     The first song that is not just in my playlist but must be in all of yours is Love you Zi ndagi from Dear Zindagi . I kept on listening to this song in a loop before the release of the film and after watching this slice of life film I'm in awe of it. It has a really refreshing take on life and also talks about mental health and illness that we have due to our suffocated lives and kudos to Alia Bhatt - she's the best actress of this new generation and has given a beautiful...
