Resolutions 2K17

This is my most favourite part of the year. The Christmas vacations and everyone's busy planning the New year's Eve but at the back of everybody's mind is a question, What resolution should I make for 2017 ? A new year resolution is a decision to do or not to do something in order to accomplish a personal goal or break a habit. After a bit of digging I found that this 'resolution' thing was started by the Romans, each year they began making promises to the god Janus, after whom the month of January is named.    The most common new year resolutions are: To exercise/ lose weight, quit smoking or drinking, eat healthier food rather than the pizzas and the burgers, managing stress better, enjoying life to the fullest and travelling with your family and friends, improving on relationships, doing something for charity. But surprisingly according to a survey, out of all the resolutions only 75% continue through the entire first week of January and only 46% ...

Demonetisation

It was a routine Tuesday as usual on the 8th of November. I had just reached home switched on the Wifi and suddenly all the quiet WhatsApp groups began flooding with long text messages which I always skip to read. There was this small, one line text by a friend which read check the news. So, I told my folks who were busy watching T.M.K.O.C to change the channel and there was the P.M of our country enthusiastically saying, " Bhaiyo aur Behno ..." and the news flash read, " 500 and 1000 rupee notes to be scrapped by today midnight." It was a kind of jolt for me as I had neither experienced nor expected something of this could happen because in my 20 years I've seen 25 and 50 paise being scrapped but 500- 1000 notes was way beyond anyone's imagination. And immediately later there was this announcement of the "Pink Revolution" the 2000 rupee pink note and the new 500 one. Soon after hearing people ran up to the ATMs as they were supposed to rema...

Taken for granted

There are three things in life which you cannot recover - the moment after its missed, the word after its said and the time that is wasted and if all this culminated then it would be horrific to bring it back. We most of the times miss the small moments like wishing our close people on their birthdays, we do have our excuses for not remembering and our busy schedules are only to complain. We often say someone unabashedly that we don't need that person in our lives, well we might not even need but think again was their actually a need to say it and the hours that we binge watch American TV PS I do, what all things we all could be done in those hours. Well all these are larger topics I need to stress more on the first one that is we take people for granted.     The parents that give us the right upbringing, fulfill all our desires become the uninvited people in our lives at a point of time. The mother that wakes up at 5, prepares our breakfast so that we could...

Me, Myself and I

In the last blog I wrote about loving your life, this one is on the similar lines but completely different altogether. This one is about loving yourself ie, self obsession. Well! to begin with I'm very self obsessed, I never pay heed to whatever the other person thinks about me, I do my job the way I want. I dress, behave my way,I choose the person I wanna talk to and neglect the one I don't. I never like to please anyone or purposely be appreciative to someone even I've not liked it.                                                                         Okay! Self obsession in more collective terms means Narcissism . I just go...

Love You Zindagi

Hello guys, I'm Gaurav. I'm a total filmbu ff and love to listen all kinds of songs be it Rock, pop, jazz, hardcore romance or simply Bollywood. So here's My Pla ylist but with a lot more things. Each song that I listen to or keep humming has an anecdote - a memory, a story, which I would like to share with all you guys. Well, my language will be simple as is of a 20 year old one who is on the verge of turning 21. So, no preachings here but yes being into teaching gives me that edge.     The first song that is not just in my playlist but must be in all of yours is Love you Zi ndagi from Dear Zindagi . I kept on listening to this song in a loop before the release of the film and after watching this slice of life film I'm in awe of it. It has a really refreshing take on life and also talks about mental health and illness that we have due to our suffocated lives and kudos to Alia Bhatt - she's the best actress of this new generation and has given a beautiful...
