Loopholes in the Indian Education system

What is education?
Wikipedia answers it as a process of facilitating learning, the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits.
If you look at today's education system, it does not cover any of the above mentioned points. Nor it facilities learning nor it helps in imbibing habits, values and beliefs in a child and if I say about knowledge it's not knowledge that's provided it's information that's given to the child which if he understands and acts upon it, then it becomes knowledge. Today, more impetus is given on the marks a child scores in his exams and for gaining marks, the child's thumb rule is to mug up, to memorise the answers fed to him by his teachers. And in this process he has absolutely no clue of the concept of that particular topic. So here we aren't facilitating a child we are making him a slave, a rat caught in a rat race in a tryst to obtain marks.
In this rat race and mugging up a child has no analytical skills, he lacks critical analysis and is simply unexposed to the outer world. This makes the child question himself and his capabilities at a far later stage in life where there is no looking back. Also the education given today is irrelevant to the job market as the child lacks the skill sets required for the job. Moreover the disparity is huge in the mediums of the schools and in the boards of the schools. But ultimately all leads to the same loopholes faced over the country.
Passing students till VIII standard is a brilliant concept for the kids in the villages as they and also their parents neglect schools and work in the fields. But in the towns and cities its become a blunder as a student going in IX has no clue of simple mathematical calculations or reading English. Also the strengths of the classes is a big point. Maximum 20 students should be there in a class according to international units but here we have nearly 60 kids in each class. So the teacher's time ends up in making the class quiet rather than explaining. Moreover efficient teachers are far and few hence making the task more difficult.
Education should have brought an end to social disparity but if you see today the disparity is huge. The poor go to the government schools and rich to the private which is in complete contrast to foreign countries. The GDP that our country spends on education is mere 3.65% ( 2016-17 according to TOI) which clearly states that it's looked upon as something which is not important according to the government's point.
Change is the need of the hour and it will surely take place.
