Selective tolerance

    'Intolerance' is such an overused term these days. Anyone out of the blue rises and starts giving opinions and takes jibes at the current situation that we as 'Indians' are in. Hell yeah! I believe, intolerance was always there in which ever era you lived but today it's on a rise that too to an extreme level.
  India is a diverse country with a 1.2 billion people of various religions, castes and stratas of society. The Hindus form the majority of the population whereas the others form the minority. I am neither writing against any religion nor in support of any. I'm just giving my opinion as we supposedly live in a free country and have a right to speak.
   Sonu Nigam recently took to Twitter to speak about the Azaan that troubled him. Well its true what he was trying to say that one shouldn't use loud speakers but isn't it true while Ganesh Utsav or Navratri.
   The ban over beef in the country is also one of the most controversial issues. Muslims and many others eat beef while the Hindus think that the cow is a sacred animal and it must be worshipped. If going vegan is the thing then why not stop all animal sacrifices.
    The intolerance over 'reservation' is also very prominent. Protests and rallies are held for the same. Interstate migration also creates problems for the migrants and more often than not results in communal violence.
   The ban over Pakistani artists- Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan and stopping the promotions of colossal Hindi movies created another stirs. Also Pakistani cricketers aren't allowed to play in the Indian Premier league is also intolerance showed towards them.
   Intolerance isn't just restricted to India alone. When Donald Trump was elected as the president of the United States of America, several people protested against him taking the office. In a recently conducted poll, American people said Dwyane Johnson "The Rock" would be a better President than Trump. Also Britain's exit from the European Union created another explosion. And let just leave aside the intolerance over trade, terrorities and terrorism.
    But when we hear news about rapes and molestation, farmer suicides, murders and accidents, corruptions we become tolerant to them as if it's normal and nothing big has happened. Infact rather than giving undue importance to religion we must focus on the issues that need to be tackled and be intolerant to them and not our own species "The Humans". Let us all live in peace and harmony.
