The art of communication

By mere definition 'communication' is the imparting or exchanging of information by various means. Writing is my form of communication, painting, sketching, singing, dancing are also some forms of communication. But the most important form of communication is speaking or may be texting has overtaken it, for sure. The reason why I titled it the 'art' of communication is because it's actually an art, not everyone can master it. It's just like any other art form like singing, dancing, painting - not everybody can master them. You have to definitely take lots of efforts. Communication is just like our handwriting - it reveals a lot about our personalities.
Our first communication began when we communicated with our mothers, which we don't even remember, when we couldn't even speak. Speech isn't the most important thing for communication, it's the eyes. Our mothers understood what we want through our eyes, because of our crying. Hence while communicating eyes i.e, eye contact is very important. The eyes also reveals how much truth a person is speaking and how much is fake. I think for improving the art of communication we must improve on our words. It's said that people judge you by your choice of words. Definitely words have power. It can either build you or destroy you. So when you speak you must speak with confidence and your words always must be optimistic and understandable.
Your vocabulary should always be rich. It reveals not only how educated you are but also how well read you are. You must also pay heed at your choice of vocabulary. Use the expanded vocabulary with the more educated groups and basic vocabulary to the less educated groups. Also while communicating the tone, the intonation is also very important. The use of the pitch of your voice and the pace of the words is vital. Your emotions should be heard along with your words. For example showing anger commuicates seriousness or a low pitch monotone communicates depression. Hands also play a important part while communicating, the stiff hands shows how uncomfortable a person is, hands in the pocket while speaking is also a sign of nervousness. The more free the hands, the more person is relaxed.
Most importantly communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings. In today's time for some face to face communication has become a  burden so texting is a facade to it. But anyways the desired outcome or goal of any communication process is 'understanding' if that is achieved well and good if not try again.
